Day 2 from Mattawa to Chambly PQ

After a peaceful sunrise walk along Talon Lake we got underway for a long day driving to Chambly PQ. OK it didn't take long to have a problem. Within 5 mins of leaving Lake Talon, we lost our speedo cable which meant we also lost our cruise control. This put Papa on edge for sure he said he had a sore right toe by the time we got to Montreal. Then the traffic jam hit.. the Champlain bridge is being reconstructed and we got stuck in a HUGE traffic jam as the traffic from the entire city was merging into one lane. to cross the bridge.  Everyone is hot, tired and out of patience. People in other cars are at least smiling at me and taking pictures of me sitting on the dashboard.  It took one hour to make  it to the South Shore.

Oh yes we also left home without the power cable for our GPS.  Papa always hated this GPS but not having it made PAPA crazy.  Especially as he and my Mom tried to navigate Montreal in traffic. There was some yelling then silence for a long time. So once we crossed the bridge we stopped at CT to buy a new GPS and Papa is happy again.  and we are able to find our "Jolie" Campground without a problem.  Not so jolie after all, the long weekend is here and even though we reserved we end up in a site next to the "Station de Vidange" (this site next to the SHITE station). Je suis trent l'apprend le francais.  Ya this one campground that is off the list.

Day 1 depart Sudbury

I had to wait all day for my parents to get finished work but now we are on our way!

Gaspe 2012

So this is our 2010 big trip. We make this trip without our kids - just me and my parents. I get full attention. Last year we travelled to Nova Scotia. If i have time I will backtrack and fill you in on what I remember from that trip (?). But on our way to Nova Scotia my Mom was ver intrigued by the St. Lawrence river landscape and she had it in her jhead that we would explore the Gaspe region in 2012.  So here we go! I should mention that she and Papa are also intrigued by microbreweries and this also seems to be a part of the plan for this year!

Welcome

Hello! Bonjour! My name is Milou.  Mon nom est Milou. Welcome to my blog.  I tell the stories of my adventures with my family and our Airstream motorhome.

I am a Wire Haired Fox Terrier.  My family chose me because I am tenacious, adventuresome and full of fun! They soon figured out that I could never be left home alone (heh heh). The only way for my family to travel was to take me along - and so not long after I arrived, they bought a "vintage" Airstream motorhome and decided to tour!

Now my Papa, is the technical person, and he LOVES motorhomes! Actually he loves anything with motors, motorhomes, motorcycles, monster trucks, as you will see.  He is the one who found the ad for airstream Classic 350 LE and convinced my Mom that we had to have it.  It didn't take much convincing …she was a big fan of the airstream trailers and this was in MINT shape. Of course it was perfect for me.  I am totally at home in the Airstream.  For those that know terriers, we're not really into passivity,  I need to play!  With 35 feet of space; I can get up and be able to run around and play while we travel.

So, I have been "toying" with the idea of blogging because my Mom and Papa, keep saying that we need to write stuff down .. so we remember and share the fun and "misadventures" of our travels.  And here they are - from a dog's perspective.
